Plain-language guides — coming soon.

Short, practical guides on the legal side of running a small business. No legalese, no scare tactics — in English and Spanish.

What to expect

Written the way I practice: in plain language

I'm writing a series of short guides on the questions small-business owners, founders, and creatives actually ask — choosing and forming an entity, signing better contracts, and protecting your brand. Everything will be published in both English and Spanish.

The first guides arrive shortly. Planned topics include:

  • LLC or corporation? How California founders actually choose — and where the S-corp election fits in.
  • "My client sent their standard contract." What to check before you sign anything.
  • You formed an LLC. Your name still isn't protected — here's why, and what a federal trademark actually covers.
  • ¿Necesito registrar mi marca en Estados Unidos? Una guía en lenguaje sencillo para emprendedores.
